Department Purpose

Safe, efficient, effective, and compliant management and performance of aircraft, crew and handling operations.

Job Purpose

  • Management and oversight of aircraft operations regarding crew, cargo and aircraft ground handling.
  • Produce and/or maintain documents relating to aircraft ground handling, crew catering, flight funds and support crew as required.
  • Receive and obtain all details of the cargo and passengers on each flight to facilitate the preparation of load and unload times and required equipment.
  • To ensure all preparation aspects for on-board passengers to enable a timely delivery of cargo.
  • Maintain continuous operational contact with Maximus OCC with regards to the operation.

 

Key Responsibilities

Measures

  • Coordinate with Commercial, OCC, and Ground ops in all phases of flight.
  • Keep Crew updated on Changes and organise accordingly.

  • Be proactive at Airports in getting new discounted contracts, services, and any additional services in favour of Maximus

  • Update Management on the progress of flights and reports.

  • To check that the load received against the load study received is correct, Make arrangements concerning the time for loading, Determine the equipment required to load the cargo, and inform the ramp airport of this information
  • No negative feedback from Ground Operations 
  • Coordinate with the destination airport concerning timing and unloading requirements 
  • Inform the customer/plan with airport handling of any specific requirements for the cargo
  • No negative feedback from the customer
  • No avoidable delays due to inadequate information provided to the customer

  • Provide and coordinate customers with the airport's contact details, delivery/collection, pass requirements, equipment, manpower etc
  • No negative feedback from customers 
  • Complete escort information and comply with SOP

  • Obtain and fulfill stock list of required catering for flight from Loadmaster, receive and sign for in-flight catering
  • No negative feedback, delays or costs due to inadequate coordination
  • Pre-flight planning and Communicate  with customers and load requirements with Ground Operations/Logistics Planning 
  • Documentations  and Security Declarations along with  DG documents
  • POD collection


 
  • The destination airport is aware of the equipment needed for unloading
  • No delays/costs due to ineffective communication

Job Dimension 

 

CONTEXT

  • Job role is based in the Head Office and onboard company aircraft at airport locations worldwide as required
  • Working within the Operations, Commercial, and Maintenance dept.

PLANNING AND ORGANISING

  • Informing the customer of their timetable regularly.
  • Planning associated with organising the loading of cargo for every flight.
  • Organising the provision of unloading at the destination airport for every flight.
  • Planning concerning the equipment and resources required to load and unload the cargo for every flight.

DECISION MAKING  

  • Critical - What equipment is needed to load the cargo.
  • Critical - Based on the customer, load, and crew available, deciding when the flight will be ready.

INTERACTIONS (internal and external)

  • Frequent interactions with the customers at the origin and destination.
  • Frequent interactions with the airport supervisors.

PROBLEM-SOLVING

  • Identifying the correct equipment required to load the cargo.
  • Solving problems associated with different cargo that is expected to need to be loaded.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Management of trip funds (up-to USD100, 000).
  • Ensuring everything occurs to plan in turns of customer timing and cargo loading.
  • The smooth and timely planning and coordination of customer requirements.
  • Payment of and accounting for aircraft and ground handling invoices including fuel, catering, hotel etc as necessary

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the aviation industry and cargo requirements.
  • Loadmaster qualification.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office.
  • Report writing
  • Document control

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the technology involved in the aviation industry of ramp safety. 
  • Knowledge of standard ground handling equipment.

Languages

  • Multilingual – English Arabic
  • Other foreign language – Russian & French preferable

Experience

  • Previous work with cargo aircraft and loading facilities.
  • Previously worked as a Flight Technician or Loadmaster.
